Electric vehicles are a type of new energy vehicles.

The working principle of the automotive vacuum pump is that, in vehicles equipped with gasoline engines, the engine generally uses a spark ignition system, which can generate a relatively large vacuum pressure at the intake manifold. This can provide sufficient vacuum source for the vacuum-assisted braking system. However, for vehicles driven by diesel engines, since their engines use compression ignition, they cannot provide the same level of vacuum pressure at the intake manifold. Therefore, a vacuum pump that can provide a vacuum source is needed. Additionally, engines designed to meet certain automotive emission and environmental requirements also require it to provide sufficient vacuum source to ensure the vehicle operates normally. The vacuum pump mainly outputs pressure generated by the power servo system, but when it cannot function properly, the hydraulic system can still be driven manually to provide assistance. The vacuum-assisted braking system can also be referred to as the vacuum servo system. The automotive braking system typically relies on hydraulic transmission as the medium, and compared to a pneumatic braking system that provides power, it requires a resistance system to assist the driver's braking. The automotive vacuum pump mainly utilizes the vacuum generated by the engine during operation to provide sufficient assistance when the driver presses the brake, making it easier for the driver to brake. However, if the vacuum pump fails, there will be a lack of assistance, making the brake feel heavier, and the braking effect will also decrease, sometimes even failing to work, indicating that the vacuum pump has malfunctioned.
